Sam VanSenior Vice President, Head of Deltec Investment Advisers Limited, Corporate Advisory
Sam is the head of Deltec Corporate Advisory practice, helping clients access to the North American capital markets through mergers, sales, acquisitions, spin-offs and initial public offerings. Sam’s professional career is dedicated to new business development and relationship building, specializing in the emerging capital markets throughout Asia and the U.S. During his tenure at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Sam secured the listings of more than 50 companies on the NYSE with total market capitalization exceeding $7 billion. Sam is fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin and Vietnamese. He received his BS in Finance from St. John’s University and his MBA from Cornell University.
Anh DoManaging Director, Indus Capital
Anh Do is a Managing Director at Indus Capital, a $6 billion Asia-dedicated long/short equity hedge fund. Anh is currently Global Head of Pharmaceuticals. Previously, she was Head of Financial Services. She joined Indus Capital in 2006, after graduating from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Economics.
Chau HoangDirector, Berkeley Research Group
Chau specializes in valuation analysis for transaction advisory, corporate planning and strategy, financial reporting and compliance. Chau has provided solvency, fairness and other transaction-related opinions in connection with spinoffs, dividend recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, exchange offers and mergers and acquisitions. She has provided financial advice and independent opinions to Fortune 500 and middle-market clients. Prior to joining BRG, Chau was a member of the valuation practice of Capstone Advisory Group, LLC and was formerly a part of Capstone’s restructuring group with an emphasis toward financial restructuring advisory services to lenders and debtors in financial distress situations. Chau also co-founded Orphans’ Futures Alliance, a 501(c)3 global charity with a mission to provide orphans in Southeast Asian communities with access to education and mentoring in order to break the cycle of poverty.

Daniel (Duy) Ngo
Daniel is currently a senior analyst at Houlihan Lokey in New York office. Prior to that, he was a Senior Associate in Financial Markets Group (formerly FSR) at PwC in New York City where he specialized in valuation for corporate debts and private equity portfolio companies, and transaction advisory services for agency CMOs origination and CLOs. He previously worked in the Healthcare and Life sciences M&A group for a middle market investment bank in Washington DC and two private equity buyout firms in Baltimore and Dallas.
Vu is an Investment Banking Analyst at Macquarie in their Financial Institutions Group in New York City. In his capacity, he advises on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions across a number of sectors within the wider financial services market, including Insurance, Specialty Finance and Financial Technology. Prior to joining Macquarie, Vu was a Senior Associate at PwC, rotating between their Business Valuation and Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory (CMAAS) groups.
Henry is currently a Strategy Associate at Axoni, a financial technology firm, serving the world's largest financial institutions and capital markets service providers with full stack blockchain solutions. He was previously a Senior Associate in PwC's Management Consulting, specialized in M&A Advisory within Financial Services industry. He deeply enjoys meeting and coaching younger students and helping them in every stage of their journeys from career planning to getting offers.
Minh is an assistant vice president at Swiss Re Asset Management and is responsible for providing financial due diligence support on corporate M&A and restructuring transactions, debt and equity financings, and implementation of financial reporting applications. Prior to joining Swiss Re in January 2018, he was a senior consultant in Ernst & Young’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice providing technical accounting advices on a variety of complex capital market transactions. He is a Charted Financial Analyst, a CPA licensed in New York and a certified Financial Risk Manager.
Betty Vo is an Associate at WCAS, where she focuses on growth-oriented investments in the healthcare and technology industries. Before joining WCAS in 2017, she worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Healthcare Investment Banking Group, advising companies on strategic M&A transactions and capital raises. Betty has a B.S. degree in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University.
David Nguyen, Senior Associate at Dexia Credit Local, NY. He joined the company in January 2014 as an intern analyst and has become full time employee since 2016. His responsibilities at Dexia Credit Local include high-yield municipal research analysis, providing fixed income portfolio manager support, building and maintaining cashflow model for the financial guarantors. Prior to joining Dexia, Mr. Nguyen spent six months internship at Credit Agricole CIB in Paris, France, covering CDS trading desk and hedging the credit risk of the bank’s counter parties. He also worked at Lyxor Asset Management as an intern funds analyst, covering Long/Short Equity and Event Driven Funds. He obtained his Bachelor in Science and Economics at the University of Poitiers and his Master degree in Financial Markets at ESCEM Business School in 2014.
Giang Nguyen is an Associate in the Shareholder Advisory practice at Lazard. In this role, she is responsible for spearheading Lazard's shareholder analytics project, a collaboration between Lazard's financial advisory and asset management businesses. Ms. Nguyen joined Lazard in 2018. From 2015 to 2018, she was an Associate in the investment team of WL Ross & Co. (now Invesco Private Equity) focusing on distressed private equity investment opportunities. Ms. Nguyen started her career in the investment banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she advised Healthcare companies on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. Ms. Nguyen earned her B.A. in Economics and Mathematics, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Smith College.
Long Pham is an Investment Analyst at MAEVA Group, a New York-based merchant banking firm focused on acquiring or investing in challenged businesses and advising companies undergoing major transitions. Previously, Mr. Pham worked for the Dubai Government's investment arm, where he focused on evaluating and managing private equity transactions in the industrial and financial services sectors. Mr. Pham began his career in the investment banking division at Bank of America, where his responsibilities involved advising financial sponsors and corporate clients in debt financings and leveraged buyouts across a broad range of industries. Mr. Pham received an MBA with Dean's Honors from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University.
A native Saigoneer, Chris joined Vietnam Finance Society in 2019 out of his passion for connecting people together and building representation of the Vietnamese community in the financial industry. A management consultant at Gartland & Mellina Group, Chris benefitted from having great mentors and believes that every young, aspiring professional should have the same opportunity. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and serves on the Board of his alma matter’s alumni association. In his spare time, Chris enjoys organizing beach volleyball and poker socials with his friends and writing short stories on weekends.
Uyen Nguyen is a Tax Consultant at Deloitte Tax LLP. Ms. Nguyen is currently focusing on pass through income in real estate. Uyen Nguyen earned a Bachelor degree in Accounting at Colby-Sawyer College. Ms. Nguyen also graduated from MiddCORE, a leadership program by Middlebury College in 2015 with an outstanding performance.
