A Dialogue on Vietnam's Economic Development
Vietnam, during the past 35 years, has been a remarkable development story. Economic reforms that began under Đổi Mới ("Renovation", launched in 1986) have spurred rapid economic growth and transformed Vietnam from one of the world’s poorest to an up-and-coming export powerhouse, or, as others have called it, Asia's latest emerging "tiger economy". It is high time for anyone who follows the development trajectory of Vietnam's economy and market, as the country undergoes significant and exciting economic, socio-political and demographic changes.
As macro uncertainties abound and tensions between the US and China show no signs of abating, Vietnam's attractiveness as a manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia has increased. Will this growth trend continue in light of US-China trade tensions and potential global economic downturn? Is Vietnam structurally and politically prepared for this new wave of private wealth and investor interest? Join us for an open dialogue with Dr. Edmund Malesky of Duke University and Dr. Anh Tran of Indiana University, as we bridge the gap between Vietnam and the United States.Sign Up Here!
